{"id":3845,"date":"2020-07-30T15:13:33","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T14:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nottssvss.org.uk\/?p=3845"},"modified":"2022-05-16T16:58:11","modified_gmt":"2022-05-16T15:58:11","slug":"consent-coalition-highlighted-rasso-5-year-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nottssvss.org.uk\/consent-coalition\/consent-coalition-highlighted-rasso-5-year-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Consent Coalition highlighted in RASSO 5-year plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We are named in the CPS Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) 5-year plan.<\/p>\n<p>Today the partnership work of Nottingham\u2019s Sexual Violence Action Network (SVAN) which make up the Consent Coalition was recognised in the Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) RASSO 5 year plan.<\/p>\n<p>The document, named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cps.gov.uk\/publication\/rape-and-serious-sexual-offences-rasso-2025\">RASSO 2025<\/a>, is a five-year blueprint to help the CPS address the gap between the number of reported cases of sexual violence and those that come to court.\u00a0 Key parts of this work involved looking at how survivors of sexual violence are supported and how barriers to justice can be removed.<\/p>\n<p>Nottingham\u2019s SVAN has been included under the heading public confidence.\u00a0 In the document it states that the SVAN \u2018brings together statutory and voluntary sector organisations to ensure an effective partnership approach to sexual violence.\u00a0 The SVAN has become so successful that it is now a model being used by other councils for other cities to combat sexual violence.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This recognition follows a meeting with the Director of Public Prosecutions, Max Hill QC, in February where SVAN members talked about our model of working and showed him copies of our <em>Your Journey<\/em> guide for survivors.<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte-Caulton Scott, Head of CPS East Midland\u2019s RASSO Unit, has played a key role in creating strong working relationships between ISVAs and ChISVAs who support survivors during the criminal justice process.\u00a0 She has also helped to showcase the work of the coalition in the wider CPS.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cps.gov.uk\/east-midlands\/news\/improving-experience-rape-victims-justice-system\">In a statement on the CPS East Midlands website<\/a> she said \u2018Listening to victims and victims groups is one of the most important things for the CPS to do. Working with other professionals as part of this close-knit network has transformed the service we all provide to survivors of rape.\u00a0 We now understand more about their experiences and others supporting survivors understand more about what we need to do to prosecute.\u2019[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row equal_columns=&#8221;true&#8221;][vc_column
