Female* part-time counsellor, fixed-term until March 2021 (with possible extension)

We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated counsellor to join our team providing counselling to survivors of sexual violence aged 0 upwards

NJC Scale Point 25, £28,785 (pro-rata), 28 hours per week.

 

Location

Based in Nottingham.  Travel may be required as part of this role and so access to a vehicle is required.

 

Hours of work

28 hours per week, worked:
Monday 9am – 5pm
Tuesday 9am – 5pm
Thursday 9am – 5pm
Friday 9am – 2:30pm

 

Responsibilities

  • To deliver a high quality counselling service to survivors of sexual violence (aged 0+) which is safe, ethical and effective and supports key outcomes
  • Managing a caseload of clients and providing both time limited and longer term sessions as required;
  • To undertake rigorous clinical assessments and identify and action needs/risks and safeguarding matters appropriately and in a timely manner
  • To formulate, plan and monitor effective support plans with clients
  • To contribute to the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the counselling service, including accurate updating of database systems

 

Essential experience, qualifications and skills

  • Degree in humanistic counselling, with extensive post-qualification experience
  • Membership of BACP or UKCP
  • An awareness and understanding of sexual violence and its impact
  • Experience of conducting risk/needs assessments & management
  • Experience of working with or knowledge of trauma and PTSD
