Porn

Porn is fiction, not a manual.

Pornography is nothing new, but the trends and technologies within it are. Anal sex, choking, violence and resistance are all no longer seen as niche or extreme but instead are mainstream.

This prevalence, and the lack of communication about consent, mean that consent is often assumed for these activities in the real world, with devastating consequences.

The rise of AI and deepfakes mean that pornography and intimate image abuse now overlap, causing severe distress, humiliation and alarm both online and IRL.

The tech companies enabling this, and national legislation, are failing to keep abreast of these developments, with women and girls disproportionately impacted.
