Intimate Image Abuse
Worried someone has photos of you they shouldn’t?
Intimate image abuse is the non-consensual sharing, or threatening to share, of intimate images or videos of someone. It can include posting them online or showing them to others, and it doesn’t matter whether the images were created under coercion or with consent, it is the sharing, or threat to share, without consent that is the issue.
Intimate image abuse could be:
- Posting or sending intimate images or videos of someone without their permission, sometimes known as ‘revenge-porn’
- Sharing edited or fake intimate images, such as deepfakes, that appear real
- Showing someone a physical or electronic intimate image or video of another person
- Helping or encouraging someone to create a fake intimate image, sometimes known as ‘catfishing’
- Threatening to share intimate images without consent, also called sexual extortion, or ‘sextortion’
The Consent Coalition stands together to say that Nottingham does not tolerate any form of sexual violence
