Stealthing
When you get together with someone, consent and contraception are key conversations that often go hand in hand.
If you say you want to use a condom and the other person then removes that condom without your agreement they are doing something you haven’t consented to. Sex without consent is rape. It’s called stealthing and it’s against the law.
Contraceptive sabotage can also involve:
- poking holes in a condom
- not withdrawing before climax when it has been agreed to
- lying about having had a vasectomy
- forcibly removing an intrauterine device.
All of these actions negate the consent previously given and mean that it is no longer sex, it is rape.
The Consent Coalition stands together to say that Nottingham does not tolerate any form of sexual violence
