We are proud to announce that The Centre Place have joined the Consent Coalition!

Centre Place are based in Worksop and deliver specialist services for children, young people and their families. Centre Place deliver an LGBT+ Service, providing free, professional and confidential support services to LGBT+ young people aged 11-25 and their families across Nottinghamshire. Talkzone offers free, confidential mental health support, counselling and mentoring for all children and young people, aged 11-25, in Bassetlaw.

Over the years, Centre Place have supported thousands of children, young people and families, creating positive, life-changing outcomes for both individuals and the wider community.

This partnership strengthens our shared commitment to promoting consent, respect, and safe relationships for everyone, across Nottinghamshire.

Specialist Services

The LGBT+ Service Nottinghamshire offers weekly group support sessions for 11-16- and 16–25-year-olds and one to one support with LGBT+ project workers.  They provide support and information around a range of issues including coming out, exploring or understanding identity, reporting hate crimes, transitioning and dealing with bullying. The service also provides counselling and mental health support, parent and carer support and services for professionals including training and consultation.

Talkzone provide a safe space to talk for children and young people across Bassetlaw.  They offer support around anger, low mood, confusion, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, bullying, relationship/family breakdowns, low self-esteem, as well as issues around sexual orientation or gender identity. Talkzone also offers two online workshops every month: Anxiety Freedom and Anger Freedom as well as a monthly Parent & Carer Peer Support Group.

Reflecting on the importance of this partnership, a representative from Centre Place shared;

Young people facing complex and overlapping challenges can also experience additional barriers to accessing support, guidance and information that is sensitive and relevant to them, and that meets their needs. Collaboration between services, in this case, between Centre Place and the Consent Coalition, is an important step in ensuring that everyone can access meaningful and tailored support, equipping young people with the tools they need to build positive, healthy relationships.
