Therapeutic Support Service

Therapeutic support for children and young people aged 13 and upwards, who have accessed the EMCYPSAS.

THERAPEUTIC SUPPPORT SERVICE

Our Children and Young People’s Therapeutic Support Service offers information and support to anyone living in Nottingham, aged 13-17 (up to 24 with complex needs), who has experienced rape or sexual assault (recently or in the past) and has accessed services at the EMCYPSAS.

About Us

Our Support Workers help survivors of sexual violence to explore and express their thoughts, feelings and concerns in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

We do not claim to have all the answers but we are able to help young people make sense of their circumstances, supporting them to develop their own solutions and re-build a sense of who they are and how they want to live their life.

What We Offer

Person-centred assessment to discuss your needs, followed by up to 10 sessions of support.

Support sessions available at convenient times to minimise disruption to education.

Support locations across the city, in a location that meets the young person’s needs and are friendly, welcoming and open.

The choice to include parents/carers at the assessment, to help them better understand the young person’s needs and the support that is available.

When the support sessions are completed we will discuss with the young person whether further support is needed and arrange for this to happen.

How to Get Support

Access to support from a Therapeutic Support Worker can be arranged by phoning the EMCYPSAS 24hour phone number on 0800 183 0023.

More information about the EMCYPSAS services can be found on their website
