Trustees (including Fundraising)

We are seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide the organisation through its next phase of development. We are a feminist organisation, providing services for all genders and recognising that sexual offences are predominantly perpetrated by men against women. Please see our values page.

About the Board

Trustees work collectively to set strategic direction with the CEO, meet our contractual obligations and aims and objectives, ensure good governance and support the Senior management team.

Time Commitment

Trustees are expected to attend six Board meetings per year (each lasting around two hours) either online or in person, and six sub-group meetings per year (approximately 1.5 hours each).  Sub-groups cover Finance, HR, Fundraising or others as required – involvement may include some additional preparation or follow-up work between meetings.

There will also be occasional ad hoc email communication and occasional extraordinary Board meetings if urgent matters arise.

Role details

We are particularly interested in appointing at least one trustee with skills and experience in fundraising or income generation, who can help strengthen and diversify our funding and support the long-term sustainability of the charity.

Alongside this, we also welcome applications from people with experience or insight in other areas, including (but not limited to):

  • Finance or accounting
  • Governance
  • Marketing, communications or digital
  • Lived experience
  • Leadership, strategy or organisational development
  • Information Technology/Cyber Security

You do not need previous trustee experience to apply — we will provide a full induction and ongoing support.

If you are passionate about supporting our vital services and want to contribute your skills at a strategic level, we would love to hear from you.

To apply:

If you are interested, please contact Clare Fox, Co-chair at clarefox@nottssvss.org.uk in the first instance and we can arrange an informal chat.  We will then require completion of an application form, followed by an interview.

Closing date for applications: 13 April 2026, 9 a.m.

Interviews: W/C 20 April 2026
