Hub Support Worker – 22.5 hours per week, £25,519 pro-rata

Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services is the leading specialist sexual abuse charity, for over 40 years we have been passionately committed to supporting all adults living in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, who have experienced sexual abuse, we listen, believe and support. We offer a single point of contact for survivors of sexual violence of any kind whether the abuse took place in childhood or adult life. We provide free services including counselling, group therapy, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) services, telephone helpline, online and face to face services.

 

Our services are created in partnership with local commission groups and co-designed with survivors, so that we support in ways that are safe and easy to access.  We understand the needs of different survivors including age, gender, or whether a person is BAME or LGBT+.  We have a wide range of support options and can refer into other services as needed.

The Vacancy

The Hub Support Worker will provide sensitive, client-centred, non–judgmental support to survivors of sexual violence.  This will include providing support for clients accessing our services via telephone, email and online.

 

Location
Based at Notts SVS Services, 30 Chaucer Street, Nottingham, NG1 5LP with some working from home.

Salary

FTE £25,519 pro-rata for hours worked

Hours of work

22.5 hours per week

Tuesday 9:00 a.m.  – 5:00 p.m.

Wednesday 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

 

Job purpose
To support the functioning of the Sexual Violence and Abuse Hub.

Main Responsibilities

  • To assist in establishing and modelling good practice in the support of survivors of sexual violence in the Hub.
  • To action and report any safeguarding matters.
  • To assist in processing incoming referrals.
  • To assist in booking Hub and Clinical Assessments.
  • To complete Hub Assessments and Risk Management plans.
  • To participate in the delivery of Group Work Programme, including recruitment of course participants from organisational database and the delivery of the programme.
  • To conduct emotional support calls, both incoming and outgoing (including associated recording of activity on organisational data systems).
  • To record and monitor all activities across organisational databases and data systems.

Essential experience, qualifications, and skills:

  • Support work experience or counselling
  • Experience of working with or knowledge of trauma and PTSD
  • Experience of dealing with difficult situations
  • Good IT user skills, specifically the ability to use MS Office and database packages
  • Ability to produce statistical, monitoring and evaluation information
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Able to keep and produce accurate records, reports & administration
