We all deserve gynaecological care that is trauma informed and culturally sensitive

Executive Summary Launched

Today we are proud to be joining Nottingham Women’s Centre as we celebrate the unveiling of the Executive Summary of findings from the It’s A Smear campaign research.

The survey and consultations meant that we spoke to over 150 women and people with cervixes who shared their experiences of smear testing.  This has helped inform the key findings and recommendations.  The full report will be launched later at a roundtable event where NHS representatives, MPs, Councillors and other change makers will be present.

In the meantime, please have a look at the Executive Summary and let us know what you think.  If you’re going to a smear test soon, why not take our checklist with you, to help discussions with your sample taker, to ensure your test is culturally sensitive and trauma-aware.
