ISVA Support Worker (Maternity Leave Cover) – End of contract Date: on or before 26 July 2027 (with possible extension, subject to funding and service requirements) – 30 hours per week – £29,321 per annum (pro rata)
Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services is the leading specialist sexual abuse charity, for over 40 years we have been passionately committed to supporting all adults living in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, who have experienced sexual abuse, we listen, believe and support. We offer a single point of contact for survivors of sexual violence of any kind whether the abuse took place in childhood or adult life. We provide free services including counselling, group therapy, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) services, telephone helpline, online and face to face services.
Our services are created in partnership with local commission groups and co-designed with survivors, so that we support in ways that are safe and easy to access. We understand the needs of different survivors including age, gender, or whether a person is BAME or LGBT+. We have a wide range of support options and can refer into other services as needed.
The Vacancy
Notts SVSS is seeking an experienced and motivated support worker to join our ISVA Team. Successful applicants will work as part of a dedicated team, supporting survivors through assessment, planning, advocacy, safeguarding and referral pathways, whilst ensuring services remain safe, ethical and compliant with organisational policies and ISVA service standards.

Nottingham City based, various Nottingham(shire) outreach locations.
Salary
£29,321 per annum (pro rata)
Please note that full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week.

Hours of work
30 hours per week, worked Monday – Friday, 11 am – 5 p.m.
In this role, you will:
- Provide practical, emotional and trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual violence and abuse, ensuring services are delivered safely, ethically and to a high standard.
- Undertake risk and needs assessments, develop support plans, and respond appropriately to safeguarding and risk management concerns.
- Process incoming referrals, including associated paperwork and timely data entry onto the DPMS system, and support the management of waiting lists and survivor welfare check-ins.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide coordinated support and make appropriate referrals and signposting to specialist services.
- Contribute to the development of an accessible, equitable and survivor-centred service through effective teamwork, administration support and partnership working.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Experience of supporting survivors/victims of recent and non-recent sexual violence and abuse, with an understanding of the impact of trauma.
- Strong crisis management, safeguarding and risk assessment skills, with the ability to respond appropriately to concerns and develop effective support plans.
- A trauma-informed, person-centred approach that empowers survivors and promotes recovery.
- Experience of signposting and referring individuals to appropriate services and support.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, procedures and legal responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively with partner agencies and support survivors compassionately.
- Strong organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage and maintain accurate confidential records, work independently and uphold data protection principles.
