Your Experience Counts

People coming to us for support are at the centre of our service.  Whether it is listening to you, making space for you or helping you make decisions about the type of support you need, it is really important that service users’ voices are heard.

As part of this, we want to enable people involved with our service to help shape and influence the work that we do.  This can include talking about what we do well, what we could do better and listening to suggestions for how things could be done differently.  All feedback is valuable and helps us know what is working and where things could be changed to better meet survivors’ needs.

We have many different ways that service users can tell us about their experiences, which includes during sessions and reviews.  As part of this, we have recently updated our online Feedback form to help anyone connected with our service (including supporters of services users and professionals) to provide feedback on the work we do.  The form has its own button in the menu on our website.

We know that some people can be worried about providing feedback, particularly if it is negative.  We want to reassure anyone filling in the form that feedback will not negatively affect the support you receive from us or your place on any waiting list.  You can also provide feedback anonymously – while this will not affect how we deal with your comments, it does mean that we won’t be able to get back to you directly with a response.

You Said – We Did

We know how important it is to feel heard, that is why there is an option on the Feedback Form where you can ask us to contact you about comments and suggestions you have made.

We have created a You Said – We Did  page, which helps us to show how different feedback has been used to shape our service.  Recently, we have used responses to one of our surveys to help us understand what you needed to feel safe when having face-to-face counselling after Covid-19.  You can read our blog on some of the measures we have taken here.

Let us know your thoughts

We would really like to hear about any feedback you have on our service, including our website and social media.  You don’t have to be using our service to provide feedback, and you can let us know what you think through the online form, by telephoning our helpline (0115 941 0440) or by emailing us.
