Police experience survey for victims of rape and sexual assault

We know that experiencing rape or other sexual offences and going through a police investigation can be difficult.

This is why Operation Bluestone Soteria is asking victim-survivors for their views on how the police handled your case and how they responded to you.  They want to hear from people who are:

  • over 18 years old
  • a victim of rape or sexual assault
  • whose case has been investigated by a police force in the UK

The survey aims to give a voice to victim-survivors.  All views and experiences, both positive and negative, will be valuable in helping police forces to improve.  You are welcome to complete the survey whether your case has just started, been ongoing for some time or is closed.

Completing the survey should only take 15 minutes. You can skip any questions you don’t want to answer, and you can exit the survey at any time. Please only complete the survey if you feel safe and comfortable to do so.

The survey is completely anonymous and is being carried out by City – University of London.  They cannot identify you, which means that they cannot respond to you personally about your case.  It also means that they cannot provide support if you need it.

If you are living in Nottingham/shire you can get support via Notts SVSS helpline on 0115 941 0440.  If you live elsewhere you can find support via the 24 Hour  Rape and Sexual Abuse Helpline.
